APC supply & support in the Garden Route
Power protection that keeps equipment alive through load shedding.
In South Africa, power is an IT problem. CXIT specifies, installs and maintains APC by Schneider Electric UPS units so servers, firewalls, switches, cameras and fibre equipment shut down safely or ride through outages instead of being damaged by them. Load shedding and rural surges kill more hardware along the Garden Route than any virus does.
What we do with APC
Load calculation and sizing
We measure what actually needs to stay up and size the UPS for realistic runtime, not a guess.
Installation and cabling
Clean installation in racks or cabinets, with correct outlets, surge protection and clearly labelled circuits.
Safe shutdown automation
Network cards and software so servers shut down gracefully before batteries run flat.
Battery lifecycle management
Battery health monitoring and scheduled replacement, because a dead battery gives no warning.
Network and camera continuity
Keeping the router, switch, access points and NVR powered so connectivity survives short outages.

APC questions we get asked
What size UPS do we need?
It depends on the equipment and the runtime you want. We list what must stay up, measure the draw and quote a unit that gives realistic minutes, plus a graceful shutdown.
How often do UPS batteries need replacing?
Typically every three to five years, and faster in hot rooms or with heavy load shedding cycles. We track age and health for managed clients.
Can a UPS run our whole office?
A UPS protects equipment and bridges gaps; it is not a generator or inverter. We size it for servers, network and critical devices, then advise on inverters or solar if you need full-office coverage.
