Synology questions we get asked
Is a NAS a backup?
Not on its own. A NAS is storage. It becomes a backup when it holds protected copies of your data and those copies are replicated offsite and tested.
Can Synology back up Microsoft 365?
Yes. Active Backup for Business protects Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive and Teams data with long retention, which Microsoft does not do for you.
Can we use a NAS for CCTV recording?
Yes, with Surveillance Station and correctly sized drives. It is a good fit when you want long retention and remote access to footage.
